2025 Prize-Money Projected To Remain At 2024 Levels Per The Jockey Club

The prize-money for next year is expected to remain level across all 15 of the courses managed by The Jockey Club, including Newmarket | Racingfotos.com

Total prize-money at The Jockey Club's 15 racecourses next year is expected to remain at the same level as in 2024, subject to trading performance remaining on plan through its key first quarter of the year, The Jockey Club announced on Tuesday.

Overall total prize-money is anticipated to be £58.1 million across the 319 fixtures staged by TJC in 2025, with £30.6 million coming from executive contribution. As a result, an average prize-money of more than £182,000 per fixture would be offered next year, up from £175,000 in 2024. Values for specific races and fixtures will be confirmed in due course.

The Jockey Club will also continue its ongoing commitment to share financial information with the Thoroughbred Group with transparency on everything from the organisation's business performance to revenues and investment plans.

Nevin Truesdale, chief executive of The Jockey Club, said, “Prize-money is our single biggest investment each year and we have worked hard to sustain these levels in 2025.

“There is no doubt that the ongoing economic environment continues to bring uncertainty to our income streams and the Government's October Budget will have a significant and material impact on us too. However, we have prioritised prize-money as part of our own budgeting process for next year, while also recognising that in such a turbulent economic climate it is vital to review our financial performance and investments throughout 2025.”
